Daily Working Hours (DWH)

Daily Working Hours (DWH) defines the number of working hours in a standard workday. DWH is crucial for calculating task workloads, as the total work for a task is determined by the number of assigned resources and the number of working days. Task workloads also impact task resource costs and affect the calculation of % Complete and % Physical for ancestor group tasks.

Work Calculation

If the work of a task is set to auto, the work value = assigned resources × days × DWH

Updating Project DWH

To modify your project's DWH settings:

  1. Access Project Settings
  2. Navigate to the "General" section
  3. Select and update the project daily working hours as needed

Changing the DWH causes the project to recalculate the work, completion, and cost for all tasks.

Single Daily Working Hours

QuickPlanX supports one DWH per project. There is no option to change the daily working hours for different dates. However, in reality, some days may have different working hours than normal working days. For such cases, please adjust the assigned resource workload.

For example, if the project DWH is 8 hours, but there is a day with only 4 working hours, you can adjust the resource assignment rate from 100% to 50% for that period.
